Loter Residence

Location: Oregon City, Oregon, Stone Creek Golf Course neighborhood
The design process for the Loter Residence began in the spring of 2022. As friends of Tryon Creek owner Stacey Werner, the homeowners asked him to take on the design for their large backyard renovation. They frequently host family gatherings and entertain guests, so creating a cohesive and welcoming outdoor space was a top priority.
The existing backyard had been developed in phases over the years, resulting in a disjointed layout with multiple unnecessary terraces and a mix of hardscape materials that disrupted the overall flow. To achieve the unified look and functionality the homeowners wanted, the decision was made to remove everything and start fresh.
The new design featured over 1,100 square feet of patio space built with BELGARD pavers, providing a clean and durable foundation for outdoor living. The project also included two smaller decks, including a private one off the master bedroom. An outdoor kitchen was added, complete with modern amenities, and topped with a custom-built louvered pavilion that allows sunlight in or provides rain protection at the touch of a button.
For the finishing touch, Stacey incorporated a 10-by-22-foot high-tech swim spa, which quickly became the family’s favorite feature. The result is a stunning backyard retreat where the homeowners and their grandkids love to gather, relax, and make lasting memories.
