After attending Portland State University, Stacey went to work at Tryon Creek Nursery helping in the beginning stages of the nursery. At that point, Stacey realized that he had a love and passion for the green industry. He attended Portland Community College where he obtained his 2 year associates degree in Landscape Technology. In addition to holding his landscape contractors license, Stacey was among the first people in Oregon to become a Certified Landscape Technician in 1992. Not only did Stacey pass the test with one of the highest average scores in the state, but passed the first try when the pass rate on the test as a whole is below 20%. Since 1994, Stacey has served on the CLT board as the installation chair and is currently a co-chair for the state CLT committee.
Recently, Stacey has taken and passed the Certified Landscape Professional (CLP) test and has become a member of the Oregon Garden Task force for OLCA (Oregon Landscape Contractors Association).
After graduating from Tigard HS in 1985, Kevin attended Willamette University for 2 years while working his summers with Stacey Werner. He then made the career decision to work in the green industry. Dedicated to continuing his education and keeping up with the latest technologies and methods in the industry, Kevin earned his CLT certification in Construction and Irrigation with advanced endorsements in concrete and woodworking.
